It’s that time of the year again! No, I wasn’t exactly pertaining to the Yuletide season; but for an Archie like you and I, the feeling and excitement for this day is as hyped and as much awaited as that of Christmas’. And yes, for the 2nd time around, just like what we’ve done with last year’s successful birthday party, Team Pinoy Archies, with the big help from Tita Bess and the archu-council, had once again put up a HUGE get-together to celebrate David’s 22 years of existence with a bang! It was such a long yet definitely a very fun day for everyone. Now, let’s get started on how things have panned out on that 28th day of December 2012:
12:00pm was the call time that day. The attendees were told, as per the Bday Deets, to head straight and meet up at Jollibee, St. Francis Square in Mandaluyong City where they were supposed to register and then later be picked up by a bus that will service them to the 1st destination, San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly (Pinoy Archies’ chosen charity institution for 2 years now), which was actually last year’s birthday party venue, and then straight to the party’s main venue at Tita Bess’ residence in Paranaque City. Upon the arrival at the meet-up place, everyone signed at the registration and was given each their own birthday party name tags. The Chibi David/Totoro-inspired name tags were the first treats of the day if I may consider. Thankfully, everyone got to register right before the service bus arrived and no one was left behind. So, I believe we deserved an early “woo hoo!” for that! Haha!
We actually got to spare some minutes chatting with each other and taking pictures here and there… Then suddenly, the bus arrived! Yay! Everyone got excited. We lined up like young high school students on a field trip (LOL) and entered the bus in an organized manner; because TPAs are good kids, aren’t we? Haha!
The trip to San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly was started with a solemn prayer led by TPA’s resident teacher/archu-council, Karina Singh. We actually had a mini program inside the bus to keep all entertained while waiting to arrive at the venue. The party’s host, Gerald Sotto, also a resident TPA, led in talking throughout the whole trip. We practiced singing carols inside the bus which we later performed for our dear beloved lolos and lolas at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly. After the merry caroling at the Home for the Elderly, we then gave our belated Christmas gifts and greetings to the lolos and lolas and in return, asked them for the Filipino traditional “mano po’s”. They were on all smiles as each received a gift.
Here are some of the pictures we took at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly:
Now that caroling time’s done, it’s time to bid goodbye to the lolos and lolas for now and then drive our way to the main venue of the party! We all got back inside the bus excitedly. We had a half-an-hour trip going to Tita Bess’ residence at Paranaque. Thank God for the very relatable CRAZY archu-stalking stories that some of the Archies shared inside the bus while on the way. Those little chats made the trip worthwhile. 30 minutes have passed and we finally reached our main destination! Everyone, once again, excitedly went out of the bus and walked inside Tita Bess’ house and happily greeted other Archies who were able to get there earlier. That moment felt like a reunion we all have longed of having. 😀 Snacks were served right away to everyone before the program proper had started.
Gerald, the party host, then walked towards the stage and called out everyone to let them know David’s 22nd birthday party’s about to begin. The program started with a Doxology. Be Still, My Soul was played during this time. The moment was very peaceful and solemn.
Team Pinoy Archies’ President, Wilson Eraldo, also went on stage after the Doxology to officially welcome and thank everyone who came to enjoy the party.
The party kicked off when the games started. Everybody wanted to participate for the prizes in store for the winners are limited edition David Archie stuff. So, everyone had their game faces on!
Here are the list of the games that we played at the party:
1. Pinoy Henyo (Word-guessing game)
2. Name that DA tune
3. Bring-the-most-number-of-David-Archie-Stuff Game
Winners of every game get to choose one prize from the pool of David Archie stuff presented on the table! Take a look at all the prizes given at the party:
Of course, there’s a bonus if you win on a game. Not only you get to take home a David Archie stuff, you also get to take a picture with David… the standee! Hahaha!
Here are some of the winners with their prize and DAVID! LOL:
The Talentadong Pinoy Archies have also performed quite a few numbers at the party.
Here’s Sarah Bapial singing I’ll Never Go:
Here’s Marion Garcia (That’s me!), Mimi Foyo, Kevin Rosario, Brylle Espiritu, and John Michael Gernale singing Rainbow:

Raffling off of David Archie stuff prizes also took place in between song numbers and games. And because it was such a long day that it took us until 8 o’clock in the evening, we had to refresh and get our tummies filled up again. And so, the dinner was served! Everybody got their packed dinners and occupied the tables and chairs placed all around the venue.
Here are pictures of the Pinoy Archies enjoying the company of each other while munching on their dinner, a Pinoy birthday party favorite, Fried Chicken and Spaghetti plus Lumpiang Shanghai! Yay! :D:
Fun it is! Look at the Pinoy Archies Council with friends as they enjoy dancing and putting cake icing on each others’ faces! Definitely fun!
Before the culmination of this event, we took time to appreciate the efforts of those responsible for making Elder Archuleta’s 22nd Birthday Party possible.
Another award of appreciation was given to Jayson Pineda, Chief of the Graphics and Documentation team for Pinoy Archies. For everyone’s information, he is the only one responsible for all the graphic images and edits you see on this site and the tarpaulins and everything printed that we used in the party and also on different David events we attend on. So, big big props to this guy!
Lastly, the remaining people that form the Archu-council also get their awards of appreciation for all the hard work given to make this party such a huge blast. You all are appreciated big time, mostly to Dra. Bess de Guia, TPA’s mom and resident “Tita”. We appreciate everything that you do. We could not thank you enough for everything and more! Team Pinoy Archies love you BIG time! ❤
One surprise award was given by the Talentadong Pinoy Archies to Tita Bess for being the bridge to our dream of performing in front of David Archuleta himself last February at the Grand Fans Day. Not only that, she gave us too much of what we asked for and loved us unconditionally like we were her real sons and daughters. I saw that she was genuinely surprised while this award was handed to her and it almost got her to tears. We love you so much, Tita Bess! 😀
To wrap things up in a true blue Pinoy Archies manner, everyone sang a lively Happy Birthday song to, of course, the birthday boy, Elder Archuleta! This was later followed by every single one singing Nandito Ako in chorus that served as the exclamation point of this big event!
Pinoy Archies sing Happy Birthday to David plus blowing of the birthday candle:

I guess that pretty much sums up Pinoy Archies’ celebration of David Archuleta’s 22nd birthday. We hope everyone genuinely had fun although we know they really did. LOL 😉
